Amos Davidowitz


Amos Davidowitz is an Executive Director of the Institute of World Affairs. IWA is devoted to enhancing international cooperation and the peaceful resolution of conflict. His work in this field has won him international recognition and was presented at EXPO 2000. He is a member of the global dialogue on world poverty.
Amos has directed several international month long seminars on peace education for participants from third world and developing nations. This work was done within the framework of the Negev Institute for Sustainable Peace and Economic Development.

Amos takes special interest in the effects of information technologies on society. He designed and implemented several innovative uses of these technologies. He had conceptualized the organizational change of political party structures for the information age. Internationally recognized for its innovation he was invited to speak on politics and Internet in the European Parliament, Inet96 and elsewhere. He has been the leading force in the development of a suite of e-tools designed to assist grassroots organizers, peace activists and conflict resolution professionals. He has pioneered the implementation of real-time virtual negotiations with the actual antagonists in the Mid -East conflict.

As part of the mandatory military service in Israel Amos has served in combat command positions since 1976. He was awarded a special commission by the Chief of Staff for professional excellence and leadership, on Israel's 50th anniversary. He presently serves as a Major in reserves.

Amos is an Israeli and American citizen, born in New York, proficient in English and Hebrew.
